About Jo Beer

Selected for the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award Exhibition, National Portrait Gallery, London 2025.​

 

Jo Beer is a full time painter based in Cornwall.UK.

​

​Jo's work is predominantly portrait/ figurative, always in oil, she produces works that are intimate studies of her sitters.

A mixture of the general public that she encounters, and celebrities that she admires.

As she explains..." people are fascinating, there's no such thing as an ordinary person, everyone has something extraordinary about them...something that makes them stand out from the next person"​

 

Twice featured in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year, Jo has exhibited extensively in the Southwest, both solo and as part of collectives, and in Mall Galleries( 2024)and National Portrait Gallery (2025) London.​

 

Jo regularly undertakes private commissions, and is always pleased to discuss commission ideas.​​​​​​​​
